We specialize in basic sites that will require few changes, if any, in the future. Many people just want a site to show their work and have a web presence for their business cards. Why pay a thousand dollars when you can get your needs met for a fraction of the costs? You can easily showcase your work on a regular website, and then keep your customers and visitors updated by linking to a blog. 

For web sites that we create, we can provide you with free hosting. We are doing this through
a hosting provider that has received rave reviews and has a long track record. You will need to purchase your own domain name separately, but we can still do the free hosting for you. We can discuss this with you when you sign up for our services.

We also specialize in Basic Online Job Portfolios. There is no charge for hosting, and you don't need to buy a domain name because we host it as a subdirectory. Here are examples:

Scaling Our Services to Meet Your Budget and Objectives

We can scale our services to fit your budget and expectations. For example:

• We can do a light edit pass (mainly copyediting), or a thorough edit pass (copy editing, content editing, organizational restructuring (if needed), and rewriting).
• There can be just one review pass, or two, or three.

In other words, we work with you to tailor the project to fit your needs. Also, we can always work in phases, or add more things later. We can be flexible as long as you let us know what you need up front before we schedule the work.

To help us estimate the costs of your project, and to schedule your project, it would be very helpful to know up front what your needs and expectations are.

Therefore, we have come up with three terms you can use in your First Contact Email that will assist us to be aligned with your expectations: 

• Silver Service (The Light Package, For Basic Services. "B" Quality.)
• Gold Service (The Middle Package of Services. "B+" Quality.)
• Platinum Service (The Full Package, For More Extensive Services. "A" Quality.)

Rates and Estimates

We provide you with an estimate of the total cost, based on the size and complexity
of the work. We will be in continuous communication with you during the project and will alert you if we encounter any problems that will affect the agreed-upon cost estimate. Most contact will be via email. However, if the project is complex we would appreciate your phone number in case we need to contact you.  

Our Rates: 

• Our rates are very reasonable and they vary depending on what is needed and depending on your budget. We will need to see the project in order to provide you with an estimate.
  
  

• For rush projects, add 50% to the total cost. 
  

Scheduling and Turn-Around Time

We complete all projects within a reasonable timeframe. We will provide you with an estimated schedule, along with the cost estimate before the project begins. All projects include at least one review pass. Usually, we suggest two review passes so that you can have final buy-off before we send you the completed files.

If you need a faster turn-around, let us know, and we will try to accommodate you. For rush projects, add 50% to the total cost estimate. 

Payment

When you commit to a project, we request 25 percent (25%) of the estimated costs up front.

We will send an invoice at the completion of each Major Milestone in the schedule (large projects), or at final review before the final handoff (small projects).

Invoicing and Payment is made via PayPal and through email notification. PayPal accepts all major credit cards. The Silver Sun Publishing PayPal account is listed as Silver Sun Enterprises. 

Cancellations: If, for any reason, the project is cancelled after it has been started you will be billed immediately on the basis of the time and effort expended and expenses incurred up to that point. 

 

First Contact for Projects

The best way to make first contact is to send us email, providing the following information: 

1. What type of project(s) would you like us to work on? Provide as much information as you can to give us a general sense of the project(s). 

2. Tell us how fast of a turn-around you need. Please be realistic, and be sure to take into consideration one or two review passes. If you do not need the project by a specific date, it is best to leave the scheduling to us, and then you can approve the schedule before the project begins.
   
   Note:  For rush projects, add 50% to the total cost estimate.

3. Although most correspondence is done via email, be sure to include your phone number and the best times of the day to reach you so that we can follow up with you by phone if we need to. We are located in Seattle, WA (Pacific Time-PST).

Here are examples of First Contact emails:

“I have 2 stories that are currently unformatted Word documents. They are both 100 pages long, and I'd like you to turn them into E-books (PDF). They need to be edited and formatted. I need assistance with finding 5 photos, and I have 20 others that need to be cropped and formatted. I'd also like you to design the Book Covers. No specific due date, as long as the turn-around is reasonable. I would like your GOLD SERVICE. I am located in California. My phone number is 1-333-777-4444, and you can reach me most evenings between 6 and 8 pm PST. Thank you!”

"I hope you can help me. I need a very simple web site, just so I can show samples
of my work to potential customers. I don't need anything fancy. Just something that looks nice, shows photos of my work, and has my email address. I don't know the first thing about how to go about doing this and I'm on a limited budget. I guess what I want is your SILVER SERVICE. Can you help?"  (Answer: Yes, we can!)

After we receive your First Contact email, one of our Project Managers will follow up with you within 24 hours (Monday through Friday). 

TIP:  If you are in a hurry, we encourage you to send all of your files as an attachment, along with your first contact email. This way, we can get started immediately on the Estimated Cost and the Estimated Finish Date of the project. We must have the files to see what we are working with in order to do these estimates.
